Fused Silica SandAlso called fused silica or quartz sand. Quartz is the main mineral component, refractory pa (granules) with a particle size of 0.020mm-3.350mm. According to the mine and method, it is divided into artificial silica sand, water-washed sand, frosted sand-washed, and choice (floating) sand and other natural silica sand. Silica sand is a hard, wear-resistant, chemically stable silicate mineral, the main mineral component is SiO2. Multicolor silica sand is milky white or colorless and translucent, with a hardness of 7, no brittleness in catalytic decomposition, and shell-like fracture. Grease luster, relative density 2.65, its chemical, thermodynamic and mechanical properties are obviously anisotropic, insoluble in acid, slightly soluble in KOH solution, melting point 1750℃. The color is milky white, light yellow, brown and gray. Silica sand has high fire resistance.
